Recreation of the beautiful city of Bern, Switzerland, in full CGI.
Responsible for all aspects: Modelling (except cars), All Texturing, Lookdev, Lighting, Comp & Grade.

The main goal of this project was to recreate a complex environment, explore its details while maintaining fidelity and adding a touch of magical beauty trough its lighting.
Environment Progression & Breakdown
The terrain was created using Houdini's Heightfield tools. The buildings use modular parts to optimize time while being able to provide lots of variation. The houses were mostly placed by hand, to better match the real life reference.
All the trees were scattered procedurally, where a map based on the houses and road intersection with the terrain dynamically drives their spawn position.

The texturing is mostly procedural, with a couple exemptions such as the bridges. To finalize, the comp was made in Nuke and a couple projected mattes were used to bring more details to the render.
